Real Madrid's right-back Dani Carvajal became the latest addition in the club's growing injury list as the 31-year-old is set to be out for an unspecified period of time, the club confirmed on Monday.

Carvajal, 31, has been one of Madrid's most important players this season as the Spaniard has been performing consistently and combines with midfielder Federico Valverde on the right flank.

"After the tests carried out on our player Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg. Evolution pending," the club said in a brief statement.

Carvajal's exclusion would be a big blow to Carlo Ancelotti who aims to keep Madrid on top of the table as the battle for the top spot is going on with Girona.

According to Spanish sources close to the club, Carvajal will be out for three to four weeks.

It is worth mentioning that Madrid are having a tough time dealing with injuries as they have seven injured players after Carvajal's inclusion.

However, despite their constant struggles with injuries throughout the season, Ancelotti’s men have managed brilliantly as they are on top of La Liga and also qualified for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) Round of 16 with five successive wins.

Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurilien Tchoaumeni, Arda Guler, Courtois, Eder Militao and Carvajal are the current injured players.

Vinicius and Camavinga got injured during the international break with Brazil and France respectively while Guler, who hasn't played a single minute this season, suffered a new injury.

Courtois and Militao tore their Anterior Cruciate Ligaments (ACL) at the start of the season and they are likely to participate in the latter part of the season if they are allowed by the club’s medical staff.

Real Madrid's injury list and their likely return time:

Aurilien Tchouameni (December)

Arda Guler (December)

Dani Carvajal (January)

Eduardo Camanvinga (January)

Vinicius Junior (February)

Thibaut Courtois (April)

Eder Militao (April)
